Samsung One UI 4 update tracker: top features, list of compatible devices, rollout schedule

Samsung’s One UI 4 based on Android 12 is now available. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are the first devices that are now receiving the new software upgrade. The One UI 4 brings more customisations throughout the UI. In addition, it includes robust security and offers a uniform appearance for devices with different form factors.

Samsung plans to release the One UI 4 upgrade for a slew of other devices before the end of this year. The newer devices are expected to receive One UI 4 based Android 12. It is likely that other models that are not going to receive the Android 12 upgrade could be treated with One UI 4 based Android 11.

According to Samsung, the One UI 4 based on Android 12 for Galaxy S21 models brings a customised mobile experience as it features a host of new Color Palettes, which can e used for personalising items like homescreen, icons, menus, buttons, and background. It also features a refreshed version of widgets with deeper customisation. The One UI 4 also brings access to a new range of emojis, GIFs, and stickers inside the keyboard.

The One UI 4 promises stronger privacy and security features, which allows users to choose what they would like to share or keep private. It will also alert users when app makes an attempt to access the camera or microphone. There is a new privacy dashboard feature that offers a convenient place to access all the user settings and controls.

Samsung claims that the One UI 4 also offers a seamless experience on third-party apps like Google Duo. The new One UI offers an a uniform experience on all other Samsung devices such as foldable models, smartwatches, and tablets.

The South Korean company confirmed that the One UI 4 will be available soon for other Galaxy S models, Note lineup, and Galaxy Z series. Recently, Samsung inadvertently shared the One UI 4 rollout schedule list on its Members app. It mentioned the list of Samsung phones and tablets that will be receiving the new software update each month starting from November. The list is no longer accessible, which indicates that it may not be a final list and the company could be planning to update it.
