We now know almost everything about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, thanks to the extended leaks we saw of the phones. Now, the features and changelog of OneUI 5.1, which will debut with the Galaxy S23 series, have leaked, giving us a first look at the new iteration of Samsung’s custom skin.

OneUI 5.1 Changes

Camera

You can now change the hues of the selfie much more efficiently with a new option in the camera app.
You’ll also get quick access to Expert RAW from the advanced menu in the camera.

Gallery

With the new common family album, you and your family can share a single album. The same photos can be accessed from multiple devices of family members that you add.

Improved handling automatically removes the shadows and reflections from the pictures if you want.

If you swipe up from a photo in the gallery, it will show various Metadata about the photo on the screen. The search function has also been improved. Also, you can now choose a file location to save the screenshots.

Widgets

New battery widgets and weather widgets are coming.

Modes and Scenarios

You can now set different wallpapers based on different activities; for example, you can set different home and lock screen wallpapers for work and home.

Connectivity

Samsung Notes is getting a collaboration feature. Multiple authors can now access a note in Samsung Note.

You can now invite others to view your albums, notes, calendar and more using a shareable link.

You can now use your Samsung Galaxy Book’s keyboard, trackpad or mouse on your Galaxy tablets and smartphones. You can also copy and paste it across your devices.

Media output for WiFi devices has been added.

You can continue browsing on your laptop from where you left off on your phone.

Samsung DeX

Multitasking has been improved on DeX.

Settings

The settings app will now show suggestions on top of the menu.

Samsung Internet

The search in the app for bookmarks has been improved.

Setup Wizard

You’ll get a faster initial setup for a new phone. You can migrate data from older devices now with a QR code.

Weather

The information displayed on the main screen of the weather app will be more detailed.

Calls

Bixby can now answer calls and find out why the caller is calling you. You’ll also see what the caller is saying on screen.
