Samsung Galaxy A10e with Model Number SM-A102U Confirmed by Bluetooth SIG

Update: Just hours after the Wi-Fi Alliance certified the SM-A102U, the upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphone has now bagged Bluetooth certification. Unlike the Wi-Fi Alliance certification, the Bluetooth certificate confirms the marketing name of the product. Just as expected, the device will be called the Galaxy A10e. Apart from its name, the Bluetooth SIG certification also confirms support for the Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard. While the key specs of the Galaxy A10e have not been revealed yet, we expect to find out more about the entry-level smartphone in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy A10e Bluetooth Certification

Samsung introduced the entry-level Galaxy A10 smartphone in India in February this year. Thanks to its attractive design and decent hardware specs, the smartphone has become quite popular. In the coming weeks, we may see a slightly more affordable version of the Galaxy A10, likely dubbed Galaxy A10e. The Wi-Fi Alliance has certified an unannounced Samsung smartphone bearing model number SM-A102U. Going by the model number, it could be an inferior version of the Galaxy A10, much like the Galaxy A20e is a downgraded version of the Galaxy A20.

Samsung Galaxy A10e Launching Soon?

The Samsung SM-A102U Wi-Fi certification reveals the device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band and runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. In comparison, the Galaxy A10e only supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Support for dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac suggests the SM-A102U may run on a newer chipset than the Exynos 7884 powering Galaxy A10.

Galaxy A10e Wi-Fi Certified?

The Samsung Galaxy A20e and Galaxy A20 are similar to each other in most areas, except for display size. It is possible that the Galaxy A10e will have similar hardware specs as the Galaxy A10 but feature a smaller display. The standard Galaxy A10 comes with a 6.2-inch Infinity-V display featuring 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. In terms of design, the Galaxy A10e may have a similar polycarbonate build as the Galaxy A10. The only major difference, as mentioned above, could be the more compact size.

In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy A10 has a single 13MP camera at the rear with an f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash. Up front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter clubbed with an f/2.0 aperture. It packs a 3400mAh non-removable battery. Unlike the other 2019 Galaxy A-series smartphones, however, the Galaxy A10 does not offer fast charging support. Whether or not the Galaxy A10e will have fast charging support, remains to be seen.
