Samsung announces The Terrace, a 4K QLED TV that can be used outdoors

Last year, Samsung unveiled its premium smart TV called The Frame, which was being offered in 55- and 65-inches display sizes. The smart TV was designed to look like a photo frame or an art piece when not in use.

Samsung has now announced a new TV called ‘The Terrace’. The latest launch from the brand is a water and dust resistant TV that can be installed outside. Samsung has also announced a soundbar that can be installed below the TV, and both devices feature an IP55 rating.

The Samsung Terrace is being offered in three sizes – 55, 65 and 75-inches. The TV features a 4K QLED panel with features like Quantum HDR, Direct Full Array 16X local dimming, Quantum Dot colour tech, and AI-enhanced 4K upscaling. The display panel can achieve 2,000+ nits of brightness and flaunts Samsung’s anti-reflection tech, which makes sure it’s legible even in direct sunlight. Apart from that, the Terrace sports IP55 water and dust resistance rating, which means it’s protected against rain and dust.

The smart TV comes with Samsung’s Tizen OS and has support for multiple voice assistants including Bixby, Google Assistant and Alexa. For audio, there are 20W dual channel speakers tuned by Dolby Digital Plus. In terms of connectivity, smart TV offers three HDMI ports, one USB port, LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. Samsung has also launched an accompanying Terrace Soundbar, which also features the same IP55 rating and can be mounted straight on the wall alongside the Terrace TV.

Samsung The Terrace price and availability

The Samsung Terrace has been launched in the US and Canada, where it starts shipping from June 5th. The Terrace Soundbar has a June 12th shipping date. Samsung announced that the smart TV will be heading to Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and other regions later this year. There’s no word on the India launch yet.

As for the pricing, the 55, 65 and 75-inches models will set you back by $3,455 (~Rs 2,62,450), $4,999 (~Rs 3,79,730), and $6,499 (~Rs 4,93,670), respectively. The Terrace Soundbar will retail at $1,199.99 (~Rs 1,52,000).
