A new TV brand named Samy has introduced the Android OS-based Samy Smart TV. With a price tag of Rs. 4,999, it is the cheapest smart TV available in the market.
Samy Smart TV Specifications
Manufactured under the Indian government’s “Make in India” and “Startup India” initiatives, the Samy Smart TV features a 32-inch IPS panel that produces HD+ resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. It runs on a customised edition of Android 4.4 KitKat and comes loaded with third-party app stores and some video streaming apps.
The Samy Smart TV has 512MB of RAM and an inbuilt storage of 4GB. The connectivity features available on the smart TV are 2 HDMI ports, 1 VGA port and 2 USB ports. For audio, it is equipped with a pair of 10W speakers powered with SRS Dolby Digital. It comes with a remote control and wall mount accessories.
Samy Smart TV Price
The 32-inch Samy Smart TV has a price tag of Rs. 4,999. However, this price does not include home delivery charges and 18-percent GST. The overall cost of the TV will increase to nearly Rs 8,000 if it has to be delivered outside of Delhi NCR. Around the Delhi NCR region, the price of the Samy smart TV along with shipping charges and 18 percent GST amounts to Rs 7,000.
The Samy Smart TV comes with a three-year of warranty as well as 1 year of onsite free servicing. After the first year, customers will have to pay for the service charges.
How to Purchase it?
The Samy Smart TV is not available through any of the popular online e-commerce sites of India. The company has confirmed that it can be purchased only through the company’s SAMY app as well. Users are required enter their Aadhaar card number and mobile number to login into the app.
Despite the Supreme Court’s verdict that bans private firms from using Aadhaar number for verification process, Samy requires buyers to authenticate their Aadhaar card number before making a purchase. Once the Aadhaar number is verified, users will be required to fill the purchase form to avail the 32-inch Samy Smart TV.
Readers should be aware of the fact that it will be available through first-come-first-serve basis. The company has reportedly adopted this purchasing model since the TV is available in limited quantities.
