How to Generate SBI ATM PIN by Calling Customer Care

By calling customer care, you can get your Green PIN. A Green PIN is a digital way to get your ATM PIN. Using Green PIN, you may generate an ATM PIN on your own in no time. This is a paperless banking initiative and is great for customers as it helps you avoid bank visits and card activation delays. 

One way for SBI Debit Card PIN Generation from your cellphone is to call customer care so that they send the Green PIN to the registered mobile number. 

  • Call any of these numbers  1800 112 211/ 1800 425 3800,  they are toll-free. 
  • Select ATM Card services in the IVRS menu. 
  • For generating Green Pin, select 1. 
  • Confirm after entering your debit card number. 
  • Enter the debit card linked account number.
  • Once you enter all details, you will receive the Green PIN on your phone. 
  • With this Green PIN, you can visit the nearest SBI ATM and finish the remaining steps to change your Debit Card PIN.

How to Generate SBI ATM PIN through SBI ATM

SBI account holders may generate an SBI ATM PIN by following the below steps. 

  • Visit the closest SBI ATM and start the process to generate your SBI PIN.
  • Select the option to generate a PIN on the next screen 
  • Enter the 11-digit account number associated with the debit card inserted. 
  • Click on “confirm” after entering the mobile number registered with the bank.  
  • On the next screen, you will see a message thanking you for being part of the SBI Green initiative. 
  • Click on the “confirm” button. 
  • The ATM will display a confirmation message once you successfully generate the PIN. 
  • Your number will receive an OTP valid for 48 hours. 
  • Within this period, visit any SBI ATM and choose the “Banking>PIN Change” option, and your registered mobile number will get an OTP, when the ATM asks you to enter the SBI ATM PIN. Follow the remaining steps to change the SBI ATM Card PIN.

How to Generate SBI ATM PIN through SMS

  • In the format PIN<XXXX><YYYY> from your registered cell phone number, send an SMS to 567676. 
  • Here YYYY is the last 4 digits of your SBI account number, while  XXXX is the last 4 digits of your ATM card.
  • Once you send the SMS, you will receive an OTP valid for 2 days and can be used for the SBI PIN generation process at the closest SBI ATM.

How to Generate SBI Debit Card PIN using Internet Banking

If you have active internet banking, follow the steps below to generate SBI ATM PIN online. 

  • Visit and log in. 
  • Navigate to the e-services section and choose ATM PIN Generation. 
  • Choose ATM PIN Generation, and choose one of two methods: an OTP or a profile password. 
  • Choose the OTP method. You will receive one on your phone, which you must enter in the required column. 
  • Next, choose the savings bank account your debit card is linked to and click on continue. 
  • In the next window, choose the ATM card for which PIN needs to be generated and click on submit. 
  • On the ATM PIN generation page, you will need to enter the 2 digits of your choice, and the last 2 digits will be sent to your smartphone through SMS. 
  • In the next screen, enter your chosen digits and the ones received via SMS and click on submit. 
  • A message “ATM PIN has been changed” will flash on the screen. 
  • You must visit e-services>ATM Card Services>New ATM Card activation to activate the new card.
  • After completing this, you can use your debit card. 

Once you generate your Green PIN, you need to visit SBI ATM to change or create a new ATM PIN. Once you do so, it will be used for future transactions.

How to Generate SBI ATM PIN Through YONO Application

The YONO app has been purpose-built for SBI customers. This app allows account holders to do many things, even change their ATM PIN. While changing the PIN is possible, card activation is not. 

  • Click on the YONO app and log in with your netbanking username and password. 
  • Navigate to the hamburger sign, select “Service Request,” and click on ATM/Debit card services. 
  • Enter the netbanking password and click on ATM/Debit Card Activation.  
  • Enter the 6-digit card number and click on “Next.”
  • Your phone will receive an OTP
  • Change the PIN via the YONO app. 

Follow these steps to ensure safety regarding your SBI ATM PIN. 

  • The PIN keeps transactions secure. Hence every account holder too must keep this number secure. 
  • Never use a slip of paper to note down your PIN.
  • Never send your SBI ATM PIN to anyone via SMS or email. 
  • As you can generate an SBI PIN whenever you want, even if you forget your original PIN, it is prudent not to save the PIN on any device. 
  • When entering the SBI ATM PIN, ensure no one is looking, and cover the machine.
