Sembi OTT Rights Confirmation and Official Trailer
The Official trailer of Sembi was posted on the YouTube channel Trident Arts in the first week of June 2022. It garnered more than 3.6M views. Saregama Tamil on YouTube shared its official trailer two just a month ago, and it has received 1.3M views. Confirming its streaming platform, Disney+ Hotstar on Twitter wrote, “A bus, 24 passengers and an emotional ride through stories. #Sembi coming soon in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. #SembiOnHotstar”. The movie has been hailed as an emotional thriller ride.

Most of the filming of Sembi was done near Kodaikanal. It is music composer Nivas K. Prasanna’s first collaboration with Prabhu Solomon, the writer and director of the film.

Sembi Storyline
The storyline revolves around a bus called Anbu, a grandmother, and her granddaughter. Veerathayi (Kovai Sarala) and her ten-year-old granddaughter, Sembi, live in the hilly regions of Kodaikanal. Their life is peaceful until one day Sembi is sexually assaulted. Things go upside down when Veerathayi ends up killing a cop, harassing them to withdraw the case.

They board the bus Anbu and start their journey from Kodaikanal to Dindigul. As the story progresses, the 24 passengers on the bus, guided by a lawyer – a passenger on the bus (Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan), help Veerathayi and her granddaughter to get justice.
