In December, Sharp had announced the AQUOS Zero smartphone, and now the company has confirmed its price and release date. It features a large notched display and its packed with flagship specs. The Japanese tech giant is advertising it as the world’s lightest smartphone with a 6-inch display.
Sharp AQUOS Zero Specifications
The AQUOS Zero is fitted with a 6.2-inch flexible OLED display by Sharp which produces QHD+ resolution of 2,992 x 1,080 pixels. It carries support for the DCI-P3 color gamut and Dolby Vision. The notched display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 3D curved glass. It is an IP68 rated dustproof and waterproof device. The handset that features a carbon fibre rear and magnesium alloy frame weighs only 146 grams.
The Snapdragon 845 is at the helm of the AQUOS Zero. The SoC is assisted by 6GB of RAM. The native storage available on the smartphone is 128GB. There is no microSD card slot on the device. The Smile UI based Android 9 Pie OS comes preinstalled on the smartphone.
The AQUOS Zero includes a 3,130mAh battery which carries support for rapid charging. On the rear side of the phone is a 22.6MP super-wide angle lens with f/1.9 aperture. The notch of the AQUOS Zero is equipped with an f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel front camera. For connectivity, it offers a single-SIM slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and GPS. There is a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the phone. It also carries support for face unlock.
Sharp AQUOS Zero Price and Availability
Sharp will start selling the AQUOS Zero in Taiwan starting from January 15th. It will be available with a price tag of NT$ 19,990 (~Rs 45,700). It will be hitting the Taiwanese market in a single colour choice of Meteorite Black. There is no confirmation yet on the other markets that will be receiving the smartphone.
