Shehzada — About the film

Shehzada, which means Prince, is the remake of the superhit Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The original stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. In Shehzada, Kartik Aaryan will be seen as Bantu and Kriti Sanon will be seen as Amulya. The Hindi remake will release theatrically on February 10th 2023. The star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, Sachin Khedekar, Ankur Rathee, Sunny Hinduja, Rajpal Yadav and Debattama Saha. Sachin Khedekar was also a part of the Telugu film. With Shehzada, Kartik Aaryan is venturing into production. Apart from the actor Bhushan Kumar, Aman Gill, Allu Aravind, and Krishan Kumar are its producers. The story is by Trivikram Srinivas. The screenplay and direction are by Rohit Dhawan. Pritam is at the helm of the film’s music.  However, it is to be seen if the music will be like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s music. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo songs, be it Ramuloo Ramulaa, ButtaBomma or Samajavaragamana, still top the music lovers’ playlist. T-Series Films, Allu Entertainment, Haarika & Hassine Creations and Brat Films are the production companies involved. Shehzada is distributed by Yash Raj Films, AA Films (India) and Phars Film Co (International).

Shehzada Official Trailer

The official trailer of Shehzada dropped on YouTube earlier today. There is nothing new that the Bollywood movie offers over the earlier apart from the casting, which is pleasing to the eyes. Kartik Aaryan as Bantu is a fun and entertaining character. The bits of music we heard in the trailer does not match the level of the OG Telugu film’s music. Having watched and enjoyed Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, it feels that Shehzada falls short in getting the flair right, and maybe it will be just another movie. Only time will tell if this movie will surpass the Telugu movie’s collections and how it fares at the box office.
