Indian manufacturer Smartron has launched a new ‘2-in-1’ laptop termed as the ‘t.book flex’. One can use it as a tablet as well as a laptop and it is quite portable too. Given its features and specifications, it draws comparison to the popular Microsoft Surface Pro. The t.book is a mid-range device that starts at Rs. 42,990. It is available for purchase from May 13th.
Since it is meant to be used as a tablet along with a desktop, the device is quite light in weight and ensures ultra portability. The t.book houses a backlit keyboard which can be detached from the display. It also has a fingerprint sensor for easy login access to the laptop.
To explain more about its design and flexibility, the company said, “Its unique dual tone finish and a flixstand with a step-less hinge design and an ability to flex up to 150 degrees is what makes this laptop stand out”.
The t.book flex has a 12.2-inch display with a superb resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It is a multi-touch display and there are two cameras on it, one on the front and the other one on the rear.
The hybrid laptop runs on Windows 10 and switches seamlessly between both the models as the OS comes with separate tablet and laptop modes. There is a USB Type-C port provided for fast charging the laptop.
There are two variants of this device, one comes with an Intel m3 processor and the other one has an Intel Core i5 chipset. The former is priced at Rs. 42,990 and the latter one will cost you Rs. 52,990.
Smartron is now venturing into laptops and is trying to offer high-end specifications in a reasonable pricing. It will be interesting to see an Indian brand compete in the laptop space.
