Smartron, the home-based brand has launched a new smartphone with a rather unusual name – the t.Phone P. This phone is an updated version of the Smartron t.Phone that was launched in May 2016. The phone now has a smaller price tag and updated specifications; and a tongue-twisting name. This offering from the brand will set you back Rs. 7,999. Let’s have a closer look at what this device has to offer.
Display and Design
In the design department, the phone sports a hefty metal unibody design owing to what lies underneath its hood. On the front, the phone is equipped with a 5.2-inch HD display having a resolution of 1080 x 720 pixels. The display is also layered with 2.5D curved glass on top that enhances its user experience. On the rear side of the phone is where its primary camera, a fingerprint sensor and some branding by the company is located.
Performance and Storage
Underneath its hood, this offering by Smartron is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor ticking at 1.4GHz. This is accompanied by 3GB of RAM. This should mean that the phone should have no problems with multitasking. On the storage front, the phone will ship in a 32GB internal storage variant. This can be further expanded through a microSD. With this phone, Smartron is also offering 1TB of cloud storage on which you can store additional data.
Camera and Software
For the shutterbugs, the t.Phone P comes with a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash located on the back. This camera should be able to capture decent images. On the front, the phone has a 5-megapixel sensor for capturing selfies and video calling purposes. On the software side of things, the phone comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Smartron has also promised to provide the phone with an update to Android Oreo soon.
Battery and Connectivity
The major highlight of this smartphone has to be its massive 5,000mAh battery. On a single charge, the phone can easily last up to 2 days which is pretty impressive. Smartron has also integrated reverse-charge technology in this smartphone. By this, you could use this smartphone to charge up other phones. With these capabilities, this smartphone can be your go-to device if you are planning on a long trip and will not have quick access to a charging point. In terms of connectivity, the Smartron t.Phone P provides support for all conventional solutions including 2G, 3G, 4G with VoLTE. It also offers support for Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.
