Sony Alpha A6400 Mirrorless Camera Launched in India

Sony has introduced the Alpha A6400 mirrorless camera in India. According to the Japanese tech giant, the A6400 is the world’s fastest AI powered autofocus camera.

Sony A6400 Specifications

The Sony A6400 is not a flagship camera like the A6500 that was announced in December 2018. Having said that, the A6400 that can lock autofocus in 0.02 seconds, which is faster than 0.005 seconds on A6500. Such a fast autofocus acquisition speed is brought about through the 425 phase detection AF points and the Bionz X image processor.

The Sony A6400 mirrorless camera is fitted with a 24.2-megapixel APS-C Exmor CMOS image sensor. The eeal-time Eye AF mode relies on AI to detect people in the frame by focusing on their eyes. The AF mode can be accessed by half-pressing the shutter button. The Japanese firm has said that It will be releasing a new update for the camera in summer this year to bring support for Eye AF for animals. The real-time tracking mode is available on the Sony A6400 for AI based object recognition.

The Sony A6400 features a 180-degree tiltable 3-inch LCD touchscreen for a selfie-style shooting experience. It is capable of shooting 4K video and there is Hybrid AF technology onboard for focusing during video recording. The other features of the Sony A6400 include an XGA OLED Tur-finder viewfinder, maximum native ISO value of 32,000, time-lapse video shooting, high-speed continuous shooting at up to 11 fps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

As far as the appearance of the Sony A6400 is concerned, it appears to be quite similar to the other A6000-lineup Sony cameras. Hence, it features a thick hand grip and several body-mounted controls. It is equipped with a magnesium alloy body. The whole package appears quite suitable for vloggers. The snapshots and 4K videos shot through the camera can be transferred to the smartphone using the Imaging Edge Mobile app.

Sony Alpha A6400 Price and Availability

Staring from today, the Sony Alpha A6400 is available for purchase through Sony Center, Alpha Flagship stores and various electronic stores across the country. It carries a price tag of Rs 75,990. With the SELP1650 lens, it costs Rs 85,990. The SEL18135 lens bundle is priced at Rs 1,09,900.
