Sony has been quite inactive in the smartphone market. However, the Japanese brand still has a presence in other categories like audio, television and cameras. The company entered the TWS segment in India in June this year with the launch of Sony WF-SP800N and WF-XB700.
Now Sony has introduced a new pair of truly wireless headphones in the country. They are dubbed as the Sony WF-1000XM3 and pack premium features and specifications. The latest offering comes with active noise cancellation feature that is rare in the TWS space. Let’s find out what the Sony WF-1000XM3 offer out of the box.
Sony WF-1000XM3 specifications and features
The Sony WF-1000XM3 feature an in-ear design. Sony says that the earbuds are designed to fit securely and comfortably by making contact with three different points on the user’s ear. The wireless earphones come with a magnetic charging case and can be availed in Black and Silver colours.
The Sony WF-1000XM3 is loaded with features like touch controls, a proximity sensor and quick attention mode. With the proximity sensor, the music playback is automatically paused when the user removes one earbud. Tapping on the left earbud changes the noise cancelling mode to ambient sound, and double-tapping on the right earbud skips to the next track in the playlist. The quick attention mode helps turn the volume right down by placing your fingers over the earbud.
In terms of audio, the Sony WF-1000XM3 is powered by the QN1e HD noise cancelling processor. It is paired with dual noise sensor technology enabling the earbuds to cancel noise from surroundings like aircraft cabin, city streets etc. The wireless earphones are equipped with a 6mm driver unit.
They feature adaptive sound control and SENSE ENGINE technology that automatically detects the user’s surroundings and activity like travelling, walking, waiting etc. The earbuds also come with a Bluetooth chip for stable connectivity and low latency.
The Sony WF-1000XM3 come with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri support. Users can give voice commands to the respective assistants for quick access to music, information and more. The Sony Headphones Connect app on Android and iPhone allows users to adjust the equalizer and make other sound adjustments.
The truly wireless earphones are claimed to deliver up to 24 hours of battery life with noise cancellation and up to 36 hours when the feature is turned off. It supports fast charging that is capable of providing 90 minutes of playback time with 10 minutes of charging. The earbuds can be recharged with the help of charging case that features a USB-C port.
Sony WF-1000XM3 price in India
The Sony WF-1000XM3 carries a price tag of Rs 19,900. As a part of an introductory offer, they are available at Rs 17,990. The earbuds will be available for purchase from August 6th across Sony retail stores, major electronic stores and exclusively on Amazon.
