Sony is among the leading audio brands worldwide, however, the company didn’t have true wireless earphones in its portfolio in India. The company has now debuted in the TWS segment in the country with the launch of two premium earbuds starting at Rs 9,990.
The new earbuds are called the WF-SP800N and WF-XB700, where the former is the more premium offering and the latter is an affordable option. The SP800N comes with Active Noice Cancellation, which is a premium feature and is being offered at aggressive pricing.

The Sony WF-SP800N are sports headphones which come with active noise cancellation, found on more premium offerings like the AirPods Pro. Sony claims that battery on the earbuds can last up 9 hours, with the charging case providing an additional 9 hours. The earphones come with quick charging and offer an hour of usage with just 10 minutes of charging. Other features include gesture control, Alexa, Google Assistant, customisation through Sony Headphones Connect App and a USB Type-C port. These earbuds are IP55 rated for dust and water resistance.
The WF-XB700, on the other hand, are part of Sony’s ‘Extra Bass’ line-up. The earbuds are IPX4 rated for water resistance and offer up to 18 hours of battery life with the included case. The XB700 are equipped with 12nm drivers and offer deep, punchy bass. There is no gesture support, and instead you get a physical button on each bud for controls. Apart from these, you get a USB Type-C charging port, SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs support and voice assistant support.
Sony WF-SP800N and WF-XB700 price in India
Sony has priced the WF-SP800N and WF-XB700 at Rs 18,990 and Rs 9,990, respectively. The former comes in black, blue and white colour options, whereas the latter is available in black and blue hues. The earbuds will go on sale from Sony Center, Sony Exclusive, major electronic stores and e-commerce websites in India. The Sony XB700 will be available from June 24th and the SP800N will go on sale from June 26th.
