Back in May 2019, Pricebaba in association with OnLeaks had revealed an exclusive first-look of the upcoming mid-range Sony Xperia 20. Based on the renders, the Xperia 20 feels similar to the Xperia 10 in terms of design. The Xperia 20 misses out on a notch or a punch-hole display, and sports a thick bezel above the screen instead. Not much was revealed in the render apart from the dimensions and the display size of the device. The latest information on the Japanese version of the Sony Xperia 20 comes from a leak shared by Sumahoinfo, a Japanese technology blog.
According to the leak, the Sony Xperia 20 features a 6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a superwide aspect ratio of 21:9. The smartphone measures 158 x 69 x 8.1mm and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. The device is expected to launch in two variants with 4GB and 6GB of RAM and storage versions like 64GB and 128GB.
The Xperia 20 features a dual-camera setup at the rear, with two 12-megapixel sensors. A single front-facing lens can be seen in the images, but additional information on the subject is not available at the moment. As the name goes, the Sony Xperia 20 will be arriving as the successor to the Xperia 10 phone that had gone official back in February this year.
Keeping up with the tradition of unveiling their latest smartphones at the IFA every year, Sony is expected to launch the Xperia 20 at the event in Berlin in September 2019. Similar to the Xperia 10 Pro, which debuted alongside the Xperia 10 last year, a Sony Xperia 20 Pro is also anticipated to arrive with Xperia 20.
