At last year’s IFA in Berlin, struggling smartphone maker Sony introduced a new Xperia flagship called the Xperia 5. Now, the brand is reportedly planning to launch the successor to the handset, which is said to arrive as the Sony Xperia 5 Plus. While the Japanese tech giant hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the Xperia 5 Plus, a handful of renders, a 360-degree video, and some specifications of the smartphone have been leaked on the interwebs. The information has been leaked by the popular gadget tipster OnLeaks. As per the leaked images, the Sony Xperia 5 Plus will be largely similar to its predecessor in terms of design.
Sony Xperia 5 Plus renders
As seen in the images, the Sony Xperia 5 Plus could feature a boxy design with metal on the sides, just like its predecessor. The handset has thin bezels on top and bottom, and appears to have a flat display. At the rear, the device will arrive with a vertically-placed primary camera module, which will house three cameras and a fourth ToF lens. The rear of the device appears to be made out of glass. As for the placement of the ports, the photos suggest that the handset will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and its volume rocker and camera shutter will be placed on the right side. At the bottom, you can see a USB Type-C port.
