Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming platforms in India offering a number of plans to users. The service offers Spotify Duo, Spotify Family, Spotify Student and Spotify Premium plans in the country at varying price ranges. The top-end Premium plan retails at Rs 1,189 in India. Spotify has now announced a limited period price cut for the annual premium subscription and offering it for Rs 999.
Notably, this is not the first time Spotify has reduced the pricing of its annual premium subscription. Last year, the company reduced the price of the premium plan to Rs 699 for a limited period. While the latest price cut is not as drastic, it will be available till the end of the year. Let’s take a look at the details of this offer.
Spotify Premium annual plan gets a price cut in India
As mentioned before, the annual subscription of the Spotify Premium plan retails at Rs 1,189 in the country. As part of the new offer, Spotify has discounted the pricing and it can now be bought for Rs 999, which is a discount of Rs 190. The offer is available to both new and existing subscribers of the service. Interested users can buy the annual Spotify Premium plan until December 31st, 2020. The plan is valid for individual users only and can be brought from the official Spotify website.
Spotify is offering a one-month free trial to all new users and after that, it charges Rs 59, Rs 149 and Rs 179 per month for Student, Duo and Family plans, respectively. The Student plan is available only to currently enrolled students and offers 1 account. The Duo and Family plans offer two and six accounts, respectively.
In comparison, Spotify’s biggest competitor, Apple Music offers an individual subscription at Rs 99 per month. The service also offers Student and Family plans priced at Rs 49 and Rs 149 per month, with the latter offering six accounts.
