Since the launch of the first EV in India, the market has been abuzz with different manufacturers releasing different models. One of the most prominent players in the EV market is Tata Motors. Having a solid background in the internal combustion engine market, this company had no problems when it came to entering the EV market. It came with models featuring updated technology, long-range batteries, and more. One of the most famous models of Tata Motors happens to be the Altroz EV. The petrol Altroz hatchback has inspired this car. It utilizes “Agile Light Flexible Advanced” (ALFA) Architecture and showcases the manufacturer’s radical design sensibilities.

Tata Altroz EV Expected Launch

The Tata Altroz EV is expected to launch in India in January 2023. It will be powered by a 127.2bhp electric AC motor, which is mated to a single-speed gearbox. A 30.2kWh battery feeds the motor, and the car is claimed to have a range of 250-300kms. This is the same powertrain as the Tata Nexon EV and Tigor EV.

Tata Altroz Price in India and Availability

This premium electric hatchback will be launched in India by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. The price of the car may be approximately Rs 14 lakh. All Tata Motors showrooms pan-India will have this car.

Tata Altroz EV Design

The petrol Altroz has been the same since its 2020 launch. Apart from launching the Dark Edition, Tata did not update the hatchback. The Altroz however, will come with a fresh design in the market. The facelift will put the hatchback in a situation to compete with the Hyundai i20 and the new Maruti Baleno. The Altroz may get LED DRLs and an updated rear design with blue highlights. It may be available in the signature Teal Blue colour that Tata is known for.

Regarding the features of the Altroz EV, Tata has been keeping quiet. It may have a 127 bhp electric motor like the Nexon EV Prime. It might get the 30.2kWh battery pack that the Nexon EV Prime has. 312 km was the range of the Nexon EV Prime.  Since the Altroz has a lower curb weight and better dynamics than the Nexon, these figures will probably improve.
