TCL has launched a new range of AI-powered smart televisions in India. The TCL C8 series is offered in 55-inch (55CB) and 65-inch (65CB) screen sizes. Both the variants are Android TVs backed by AI features and bear a 4K resolution. The TCL C8 series is touted to be the first hands-free AI Android TV in the country. It comes with premium features at an aggressive price tag. Let’s take a look at the specs and features below:
TCL C8 specifications and features
Both the 55 and 65-inch variants in TCL C8 series feature 4K UHD resolution. The TVs support HDR and Dolby Vision for an enhanced viewing experience. There is a wide colour gamut technology that is claimed to deliver pure LED backlight to increase display performance. The TVs come with MEMC technology that provides smooth pictures while viewing fast-moving content like sports and action movies. On the audio front, the TCL C8 series is equipped with Onkyo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology for an immersive sound experience.
The TCL C8 series comes with built-in Far Field technology for hands-free control. Users can control the TV features like program reservations, channel switching, power on/off, etc without the need of remote control. For additional convenience, users can also control smart home devices like curtains, lights, etc by giving a voice command. The TV can also be controlled via the TCL app on smartphone that converts it into a remote control.
The TCL C8 series is a Google certified Android TV. It runs on Android 9 Pie with built-in Google Assistant. The TVs also work with Amazon Alexa and come with pre-installed YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix and Hotstar apps, among others. Users can download additonal apps and games from the Google Play Store. The TCL C8 series come with a bundled remote control with dedicated Netflix and Google Assistant buttons.
Connectivity options on the TVs include two HDMI 2.0 with HDCP, one HDMI 2.0 with ARC, two USB ports, AV In, 3.5mm out, and Ethernet.
TCL C8 price in India
The 55-inch TCL C8 is priced at Rs 49,990. The 65-inch variant carries a price tag of Rs 69,990. The televisions will soon be available for purchase across major online and offline retailers in India.
