TCL Launched C2 and P2M series of 4K UHD, Google Certified Android TVs

TCL, the world’s third largest TV manufacturer, has announced a new series of televisions for the year 2017 in India. Two new television series dubbed as C2 and P2M were launched in an event in New Delhi on August 9th. Both the series of TVs are Google Certified 4K Ultra HD Smart TVs. With these new launches, TCL aims to foray into the booming Smart TV market in India.

At the launch event, Mr. Praveen Valecha, Regional Director of TCL India spoke about how TCL intends to capitalize upon the Indian Smart TV market. He remarked, “The Smart TV is the future of television. With fast digitisation, there is a paradigm shift in customer preference towards Smart Features. The smart TV market is growing exponentially and is expected to reach Rs 54,000 crores in 2017. These new launches will help us to make strong inroads in the smart TV market.”

We had the opportunity to view both the televisions prior to launch and they seemed pretty impressive. The best thing about the C2 is probably its speakers. The four Harman Kardon speakers, Dolby and DTS combine together to create a crystal clear stereo effect which is audible up to a long range. All the speakers are located at the chin and thus, bezels on all sides are super thin which enhance the overall viewing experience and make the TV look gorgeous at the same time.

The P2M differs from the C2 majorly in design and sound. It lacks the superior Harman Kardon speakers and comes with slightly fatter bezels, rest of the features and performance aspects remain the same. Another thing we noticed is that even though both the TVs have voice search feature, accuracy in voice recognition is still a distant goal.

Android OS ensures a clean and user-friendly interface. To power the OS, both the TVs come with a quad-core A53 1.5Hz CPU, dual core Mali T860GPU, 2.5GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB Storage. These hardware specifications are enough to run the TV smoothly. It also comes with a Quick Restart feature which can boot the TV almost instantaneously. Both C2 and P2M grants users with access to a broad range of Google content including Google Play Store, Games, Music, Movie and TV, Google Cast and Voice Search.

Since it’s a 4K UHD TV, picture quality is obviously pretty good. The TVs also come with many other technologies including HDR Pro, WCG (Wide Colour Gamut) and Micro-Dimming for a superior viewing experience.

Both the televisions will be available for pre-orders on Amazon till August 15th since it is an Amazon exclusive. The C2 series is priced at Rs. 1,09,990 for the 65-inch model. Whereas, the P2M series starts from Rs. 62,990 for the 55-inch variant and Rs. 99,990 for the 65-inch model.

An amazing offer awaits those who wish to pre-order the television. Customers will get a 32-inch and 24-inch TV free along with every purchase of a 65-inch and 55-inch Android TV respectively. For those who wish to purchase it offline, the TVs will be available in offline stores starting September. Another important thing to keep in mind while purchasing any of these TVs is that online purchase offers only 18 months of warranty whereas offline purchase provides a 3-year warranty.
