The Tecno Camon 17 smartphone has launched in Kenya. Like the other selfie-focussed Camon smartphones from Tecno, the Camon 17 comes with several software features to improve the quality of your self portraits.

The Camon 17 sports a punch-hole display and sports a 90Hz refresh rate. Other key features include support for 18W fast charging and the latest Android 11 out of the box. In related news, Tecno had launched the Spark 7 Pro, which has many features in common with the Camon 17.

The Tecno Camon 17 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel that supports an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 450 nits brightness, and a 90Hz refresh rate. At the top-left corner of the screen is a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The Camon 17 can adjust the ambient light to capture better selfies and it relies on AI for shooting brighter selfies in low-light conditions. Users can also background blur effect to selfie shots.
Coming to the rear camera setup, the Camon 17 offers a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel AI lens, and a 2-megapixel bokeh camera along with a quad-LED flash unit. The smartphone offers photography features like customisable video templates, time-lapse videography in 2K resolution, optimised low-light photography experience, bokeh effect, animate emoji, and more.
The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset powers the Camon 17 with 4GB / 6GB of RAM. Both RAM variants offer users 128GB of built-in storage and a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone runs HiOS 7.8 based on Android 11.
The Camon 17 comes with 18W fast charging support for its 5,000mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner is available on the rear panel of the device. The Camon 17 offers other features like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Tecno Camon 17 pricing and availability
The Camon 17 is priced at KSH 22,799 (~Rs 15,700) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage edition. The pricing of the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is not known yet. The device comes in three hues like Frost Silver, Deep Sea, and Tranquil Green. It is unclear whether this phone will be arriving in India.
