An offline smartphone brand of Transsion Holding, Chinese mobile manufacturer Tecno has launched a new device in India. It is dubbed as Camon i4 and comes with impressive specifications at an aggressive price tag. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications of the device.
Display & Design:
On the display front, the Tecno Camon i4 sports a large 6.2-inch display bearing an HD+ resolution and waterdrop notch on the top. The back of the phone houses a triple camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. The Camon i4 is available in four colour options – Midnight Blue, Aqua Blue, Nebula Black and Champagne Gold.
In the optics department, the Tecno Camon i4 is equipped with a triple rear camera module. It comprises of a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. It is accompanied by a quad LED flashlight and also features Night Algorithm 2.0 for better low-light photography. The smartphone is fitted with a 16MP front camera for clicking selfies. The camera software also offers various modes like AI scene detection, HDR, portrait, night portrait, etc.
Hardware & Battery:
Performance-wise, the Camon i4 is powered by an octa-core Helio P22 chipset. The device is available in three configurations w.r.t RAM & Storage i.e. 2GB+32GB, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The internal memory is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. On the software front, the Camon i4 runs on the latest Android 9 Pie OS with custom HiOS 4.6 layered on the top
A 3,500mAh battery unit fitted inside keeps the Camon i4 running. There is an AI power management feature that optimizes battery life. The device comes with ‘Rocket Charge’ feature that is claimed to give 2 hours usage in just 10 minutes of charging.
Pricing & Availability:
The base variant of Tecno Camon i4 has been priced at Rs 9,599. The 3GB and 4GB versions carry a price tag of Rs 10,599 and Rs 11,999 respectively. The device will be available for purchase on both online and at offline retail outlets across the country.
The Camon i4 is the first smartphone under the 15k price segment to offer a triple rear camera. It will be interesting to see it compete against the likes of Xiaomi, Honor, and Realme, etc.
