The Tecno Phantom X has launched as the brand’s most powerful smartphone yet. The handset sports a curved edge display on the front and it houses a dual selfie camera system.

The Phantom X’s rear shell has a 50-megapixel triple camera system. The device features Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and rear. Other highlights of the phone include a big battery, fast charging and a gaming optimised chipset.

The Tecno Phantom X has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and an in-screen fingerprint reader. The company claims that the display curves at an angle of 70 degrees towards the edges.

The pill-shaped cutout on the screen houses a 48-megapixel primary selfie camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The top bezel of the phone houses a soft LED flash. On the back, it has a 50-megapixel primary camera that offers an f/1.85 aperture, Dual Pixel and Laster autofocus. It is coupled with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, a 13-megapixel portrait lens and a quad-LED flash unit.

The Helio G95 chipset and 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM are present under the hood of the Phantom X. It offers an internal storage of 256GB and it runs HiOS based on Android 11.

The Phantom X is backed with a 4,700mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It is equipped with a vapour chamber liquid cooling system for heat dissipation. The handset offers other features like AI face unlock, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

At present, there is no word on the pricing of the Phantom X. The pre-orders of the phone are now live in some of the African markets and it is expected to go on sale from the beginning of July. It will be available in colour like Starry Night Blue and Monet Summer.
