The Tecno POVA 2’s India launch has been officially teased. The news has come through a tweet by Transsion Holdings India CEO Arijeet Talapatra. While he did not reveal the phone’s name, he shared an image to showcase the phone’s rear panel design. The image suggests that the company may launch the POVA 2 smartphone that debuted in the Philippines in June.

On July 15th, Tecno is scheduled to announce the Camon 17 and Camon 17 Pro selfie-focused smartphones in India. Hence, it appears that the company may confirm the arrival of the POVA 2 later this week or in the coming week. Probably, the company plans to launch it in the coming week.

The poster released by Talapatra shows a phone that has a black back panel and a holographic vertical strip. Its top-left corner has a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup. The image confirms that this device has a 7,000mAh battery. These clues are enough to conclude that the company could be working on the launch of the Tecno POVA 2.

Tecno POVA 2 specifications and features

The Tecno POVA 2 has a massive 6.9-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole design. It offers Full HD+ resolution, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a regular refresh rate of 60Hz. The Helio G85 chipset powers the POVA 2 along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The POVA 2 is backed by a huge 7,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support. The smartphone runs HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11, and it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Placed on the front of the POVA 2 is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with dual-LED flash. Its back panel has a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, an AI camera, and a quad-LED flash.

Tecno POVA 2 price in India

At present, there is no information on the pricing of the Tecno POVA 2. In the Philippines, it is priced at PHP 7,990 (~Rs 11,900). The original Tecno POVA was priced at Rs 9,999 at launch last year. We expect the POVA 2 to feature a similar price tag.
