The Tecno POVA 2 has launched in the Philippines. It has arrived as the successor to the original Tecno Pova handset that debuted in November last year. Like its predecessor, the Pova 2 is a gaming-centric smartphone.

The POVA 2 features a Helio G-series chipset and a huge battery, which comes with fast charge support. In addition, it has a massive display that offers a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. It is unclear if Tecno will launch the phone in India at the moment.

The Tecno Nova 2 has launched with a 7,000mAh battery

The Tecno POVA 2 has a massive 6.9-inch IPS LCD display that offers FHD+ resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate.

The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset along with 6GB of RAM powers the POVA 2. The same SoC can be found under the hood of other phones such as Realme Narzo 30A, Redmi Note 9, and Micromax In Note 1. The handset offers 128GB of native storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

The POVA 2 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera with dual flash support. Its rear-facing camera setup has a 48-megapixel main camera with an f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, an AI lens, and a quad-LED flash unit. The phone runs HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11.

The 7,000mAh battery of the POVA 2 carries support for 18W Dual IC Flash Charge technology. The other features that are available on the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and face unlock.

The POVA 2 comes in a sole 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version and it is priced at PHP 7,990 (~Rs 12,200). The handset comes in a single Polar Silver colour.
