Chinese smartphone maker Tecno has launched its first gaming-centric smartphone in Nigeria and the Philippines. The device is dubbed as the Tecno POVA and is a mid-range offering. It packs some decent specifications for its price.

Some of the highlights of the Tecno POVA include a punch-hole display, quad-cameras, gradient design, Helio G80 processor and a bigger battery. Let’s find out what the smartphone offers out of the box.
Tecno POVA specifications and features
Beginning with the display, the Tecno POVA offers a large 6.8-inch screen bearing an HD+ resolution and a 90.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner that accommodates an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. Design-wise, the smartphone sports a gradient back panel with a rectangular camera module and a physical fingerprint scanner.
On the optics front, the Tecno POVA’s quad-camera setup consists of a 13MP main sensor with f/1.85 aperture, 2MP depth control lens, 2MP macro shooter and an AI unit.
Under the hood, the Tecno POVA houses the MediaTek Helio G80 processor. It is also equipped with a 3D multilayer graphite and thermal conductive gel for heat dissipation and reducing the increasing temperature. The smartphone packs 6GB RAM and offers 64GB onboard storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot. The Tecno POVA draws its power from a 6,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W dual IC flash charging. Software-wise, the device runs Android 10 with HiOS 7.0 skinned on the top.
Tecno POVA pricing and availability
Tecno hasn’t revealed the price of its latest smartphone in Nigeria but it is already on sale in the Philippines for P6,999 (~Rs 10,750) via e-commerce platform Shopee. The smartphone is offered in Magic Blue, Speed Purple and Dazzle Black colour options. There is no word if the Tecno POVA will make its way to India.
