TECNO Spark 5 with punch-hole display and 5,000mAh battery launched: price, specifications

Tecno, a sub-brand of Transsion Holdings, is known for its value-for-money smartphone offerings in India under its Spark and Camon series. Earlier this month, the brand had launched a new Spark series smartphone called the Tecno Spark 5 in Europe. The TECNO Spark 5’s claim to fame was bringing a punch-hole display to the affordable smartphone category.

Apart from the punch-hole display, the TECNO Spark 5 has an attractive design, quad cameras, massive 5,000mAh battery and Android 10 as its key selling points. The company has now launched the smartphone in India.

The TECNO Spark 6 comes with 6.6-inch HD+ Dot-in (punch-hole) display with 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. Powering the the device is a quad-core 2GHz MediaTek Helio A22 chipset. The processor is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The phone boots HiOS 6.1 based on Android 10.

Coming to the optics department, the TECNO Spark 5 is one of the most affordable phones to offer quad rear cameras. The camera module comprises a 13MP primary snapper with f/1.8 aperture, 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor and a fourth AI lens. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8MP unit nestled within the punch-hole cutout on the front. The camera app offers features like macro photography, bokeh effect, auto scene detection, AI HDR, and AR Mode among others.

Powering the TECNO Spark 5 is a large 5,000mAh battery but unfortunately, there’s no fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, VoLTE and more.

TECNO Spark 5 price in India

TECNO is offering the Spark 5 in Ice Jadeite and Spark Orange paint jobs in India. The device will retail at Rs 7,999 and will be available across offline retail stores in the country. However, considering the current lockdown situation in India, the phone will also be available on Amazon from May 22nd.
