Tecno Spark 8 has been launched in Nigeria. The silently announced smartphone replaces the Spark 7 that debuted in April this year. Like the previous model, the Spark 8 offers users modest specs.
The Spark 8 features an HD+ display, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a big battery. Apart from launching Spark 7, the company also announced other models such as Spark 7T, Spark 7P, and Spark 7 Pro. Hence, it is likely that the company may release other Spark 8 series smartphones in the coming weeks.
Tecno Spark 8 specifications and features
The Spart 8 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. It offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. The display notch houses an 8MP front camera.
The back panel of the Spark 8 has a square-shaped module that not only houses a dual-camera setup and a quad-LED flash, but also a fingerprint scanner. The camera system comprises a 16-megapixel main camera and an AI lens.
The Helio P22 chipset is present under the hood of the Spark 8. The device ships with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It houses a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 10W charging. The device runs Android 11 (Go edition) with HiOS 7.6. It offers the usual connectivity features such as dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Tecno Spark 8 pricing and availability
The Spark 8 has been announced with pricing of NGN 50,000 (~Rs 8,900) in Nigeria. There is no official confirmation on other markets that will receive the device. Considering that the Spark 7 was announced in India, the Spark 8 may also arrive in the country in the near future.
