Fans can soon watch The Archies on Netflix.
Sharing the details, Netlix India took to YouTube and released a video with a message that said, “The much-awaited Indian adaptation of Archie’s has been a dream come true for both the makers and fans! Watch Zoya Akhtar and Jon Goldwater talking about how this collaboration came to life.”
The Archies: Cast and Crew
Presented as a comedy, drama, and musical, The Archies has been adapted by Zoya Akhtar and Ayesha DeVitre along with John L Goldwater. Zoya and Reema Kagti have produced the film under Tiger Baby Productions’ banner. The video announcing the cast of the show was released in May 2022 with a message that read, “Super excited to watch this kahaani! The Archies starring Dot., Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda is coming soon, only on Netflix.”

Set in the Anglo-Indian Community
In a candid chat with the writer of The Archies comic, Zoya Akhtar said that the film was set in a hypothetical town named Riverdale. Sharing more and quoting her, a report published online said, “It is super exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive. We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India and can’t wait to transport you to the magical, fictional town of Riverdale.”
Launch Project for Star Kids
The film introduces many star kids to Bollywood, and this has not been appreciated by many Bollywood fans and viewers. Several comments were shared on social media about the same, blaming Zoya Akhtar for promoting nepotism in Bollywood and not giving a chance to other newcomers.
Music – a key element
The look and feel of the show will be retro, and makers have attempted to set The Archies in the 60s era. As the script demands, music will play an important role in the film. Hersh Desai and Ankur Tiwari will be managing the score and music for the film, which will also have an international, retro, jazz and pop appeal.
