Titan made two significant announcements at its Titan NXT event. The brand announced its first full-touch smartwatch, the Titan Connected X. In addition, the company announced that it has acquired the Hyderabad-based wearables company called HUB Innovations. S Ravi Kant, CEO, Watches and Wearables Business at Titan, said, “With the launch of our latest product, Titan Connected X and the creation of the Hyderabad Development Centre we have strengthened our play in the wearables journey. This comes at a time when India is now the third largest country in the world for wearables and Titan the second largest wearables company in the country. The creation of the Hyderabad Development Centre is a big move in the direction of building our technology expertise and consumer platform, combining it with our existing strengths of consumer insight, design and marketing.”
Titan Connected X smartwatch: specifications and features
The smartwatch by Titan is equipped with a 1.2-inch full-colour touchscreen TFT display that is circular in shape. The watch features analogue hands with a bi-directional micro motor, while the display resolution is 240 x 240 pixels. The wearable is water-resistant by up to 30m, and offers music and selfie control on the go. The Titan Connected X also plays host to features like heart rate monitoring, activity tracking, find phone, camera control, sleep tracking, weather and calendar alerts. Users can also choose from customisable watch faces.
In terms of connectivity, the Titan Connected X sports Bluetooth 4.2. It comes with a Lithium Polymer rechargeable 200mAh battery unit. The brand claims that the wearable can last for up to three days as a smartwatch and 30 days as a normal watch on a single charge. The watch is priced at Rs 14,995 and will be available across leading Titan stores from March 2020.
