Top 6 phones which have received a price cut in India

We’re just a few days into 2019, and already, several Android OEM’s have slashed the prices of their popular devices. The mid-budget smartphone segment is increasingly getting crowded, which has led to intense competition among manufacturers. In the past few days ASUS, Xiaomi and Samsung have permanently cut prices of their popular devices. Meanwhile, Vivo has also slashed the price of its flagship NEX smartphone. Let’s take a look below at the smartphones which have received price cuts in India.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1

The Zenfone Max Pro M1 was ASUS’ most popular device in 2018. The company launched its successor, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 in December. The Taiwanese brand recently cut the price of all Zenfone Max Pro M1 variants by Rs 1,000.

3GB/32GB:

Old Price: Rs 10,999

New Price: Rs 9,999

4GB/64GB:

Old Price: Rs 12,999

New Price: Rs 11,999

6GB/64GB:

Old Price: Rs 14,999

New Price: Rs 13,999

Specs-wise, the device features a 5.99-inch FHD+ display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 636 chipset. The 3GB and 4GB variants are equipped with 13MP + 5MP rear cameras and a 8MP front shooters. The 6GB model sports 16MP + 5MP rear cameras and a 16MP front snapper as well. All the variants are backed by 5,000mAh batteries.

Xiaomi Mi A2:

Xiaomi slashed the prices of the Mi A2 by up to Rs 3,000. The new price is already in effect, and buyers will be able to purchase the device from Mi.com, Amazon.in, and Mi Home stores. The new price of the base and higher variants are as follows:

4GB/64GB:

Old Price: Rs 15,999

New Price: Rs 13,999

6GB/128GB:

Old Price: Rs 18,999

New Price: Rs 15,999

The Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone launched back in August 2018. The device houses a Snapdragon 660 SoC. It doesn’t support microSD card slot for storage expansion. In the optics department, the device features a dual rear camera setup comprising of 12MP + 20MP sensors. A 20MP sensor is fitted on the front for selfies.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro:

The Redmi Note 5 Pro was introduced in February 2018. Celebrating its 5th anniversary, Xiaomi announced price cuts of both the 4GB and 6GB models of the Note 5 Pro. The new prices are now applicable across Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores.

4GB/64GB:

Old Price: Rs 13,999

New Price: Rs 12,999

6GB/128GB:

Old Price: Rs 15,999

New Price: Rs. 13,999

The Note 5 Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 636 processor. It runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie OS with MIUI 9 layered on top.

Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+:

Samsung has once again slashed the prices of its affordable smartphones, the Galaxy J4+ and J6+ The devices were originally launched at Rs 10,990 and Rs 15,990 respectively. Both the J4+ and J6+ sport Infinity displays and run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Galaxy J4+ 2GB/32GB:

Old Price: Rs 9,990

New Price: Rs 8,490

Galaxy J6+ 4GB/64GB:

Old Price: Rs 14,990

New Price: Rs 12,990

Vivo NEX:

The Vivo NEX was launched in the first half of 2018 at Rs 44,990. It is the first smartphone to come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and also features a retractable camera. The Vivo NEX packs flagship-level specs with a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Vivo slashed the price of the NEX by Rs 5,000. The new pricing will tip it against the likes of OnePlus 6T and ASUS Zenfone 5Z.

8GB/128GB:

Old Price: Rs 44,990

New Price: Rs 39,990.
