The Toyota-Suzuki collaboration could soon result in a 100% electric vehicle tailored exclusively for the Indian market. According to Team-Bhp, Toyota is also developing a new 100% electric vehicle for the Indian market. That is currently being developed in collaboration with Suzuki.

They also imply that component engineering is underway and that significant progress has already been made. The companies might begin testing vehicle prototypes as early as next year. There isn’t much information available about this new fully electric car. But it is expected that the companies will use a crossover body style for their upcoming 100% electric car.

Maruti Suzuki has given the forthcoming electric car the codename YY8. Toyota’s version could be slightly more expensive than the YY8, given that all rebadged cars were priced slightly higher. It is believed to look futuristic and will represent a significant shift from existing Maruti Suzuki cars in design. Furthermore, Toyota will not simply rebadge the car; instead, they will create their design.

The new EV will be available around 2024-2025. At the moment we don’t have any information about its pricing. However, Maruti may price the YY8 around Rs. 13 to 14 lakhs, while Toyota’s version may be slightly pricier.
