Two Telugu films, Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, hit the screens as Sankranti 2023 releases, and the makers have been enjoying an impressive theatrical run at the box office.

Starring the popular Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja and Nandamuri Balakrishna, experts from the industry were confident that the films would become big-ticket movies and garner good revenue owing to their success. While the trade experts showcased more confidence about Veera Simha Reddy, a few had concerns about Chiru’s film keeping in mind the previous track record of consecutive flops. However, both films have surpassed expectations, owing to their popularity and the Sankranti festive holidays.

Superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film Veera Simha Reddy had a bumper opening garnering a collection of Rs. 34 crores nett. Positive feedback about the trailer and word of mouth on the first day helped the film become a massive success in the first week itself. Moreover, reviews from the critics and the response from the audience from the opening shows helped the film with a massive opening over the weekend, making the mass entertainer in becoming a commercial success.
Walter Veerayya: Box Office Collections
The initial response for Veera Simha Reddy paved the way for Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja’s film, which was released the next day, eventually making a mark from day 1. Media reports released about the first-week collection revealed that the film had earned a total of Rs. 88 crores worldwide and is nearing the 100-crore mark. Moreover, the bifurcation reveals that Rs. 59.67 crores for distributors have also come from the worldwide collection. With approximately Rs. 28 crores away, the film is sure to become one of the highest-grossing of the year and a success commercially.
Waltair Veerayya also marks a highly anticipated success for the actor after his previous films like Acharya, Godfather and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy did not perform well at the box office.
