On: November 9, 2020

Vi (Vodafone Idea) has been making significant changes after the brand overhaul and merging. The telco recently launched eight new prepaid recharge plans in the country with unique value-added benefits. Apart from having an extensive line-up of prepaid plans, Vi also offers affordable postpaid plans starting from Rs 399 and going up to Rs 1,099. These plans do provide decent data benefits to users but Vi has data add-on packs for those who need more data then the allotted quota.

The telco is offering two data add-on packs worth starting from Rs 100 to its postpaid users. Considering these are just data add-on packs, no other benefits are provided. Moreover, the data benefit provided is valid for a single billing cycle. Let’s take a look at all details of these data add-on postpaid packs.

The base data add-on postpaid pack comes in a denomination of Rs 100. The plan offers an additional 20GB of data on top of the existing data benefit of the postpaid plan that the user is on. The other postpaid data add-on plan is priced at Rs 200. Those opting for this add-on pack will be entitled to 50GB of additional data. Both these plans offer additional data for a billing cycle, that is 30 days. Notably, Vi charges Rs 20 per GB after the allotted data for the existing postpaid plan has been exhausted.

The data add-on packs can be purchased from the official website of the telco or through the Vi app. In the app, users can simply tap on the ‘Vi recommended offers’ banner on the top and click on the ‘activate’ button against the desired data add-on pack on the next page. Once done, the app will show a prompt saying that the request has been received and will be processed in 30 minutes.

Airtel also offers similarly priced data add-on packs but with 15GB and 35GB data benefits, priced at Rs 100 and Rs 200 respectively. Jio, on the other hand, doesn’t offer such add-on packs for its Postpaid Plus users and charges Rs 10 per GB after the allotted data has been exhausted.
