After the launch of the flagship V7+, Vivo is set to launch a toned down version of the device dubbed as the Vivo V7. Analogous to its elder sibling, the V7 will also be a selfie-centric smartphone. The company has sent out press invites to its event which is to be held on 20th November in India.
In terms of design, the V7 will be the second bezel-less device from the brand and is expected to sport a 5.7-inch FullView LCD display panel having an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display is also expected to flaunt Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 2.5D curved glass.
What will lie under its hood is still up to speculation but rumour train has it that the phone will feature the same Snapdragon 450 SoC found on the larger variant. For multitasking, the phone is likely to ship with 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the phone will be offered in a 32GB variant which will be expandable externally through an onboard microSD card slot. The phone will feed off a 3000mAh non-user-removable battery which should provide some decent usage time.
In the camera department, the upcoming smartphone will rock a single 16-megapixel sensor on the rear side boasting an aperture of f/2.0 aperture coupled with an LED flash. On the front, the phone will feature a 24-megapixel sensor, similar to the one on the V7+. The cameras on this phone are also expected to be accompanied by software tricks to enhance captured images like beauty mode and portrait mode selfies.
On the software side of things, the phone will run the company’s custom Funtouch 3.2 interface built on top of Android Nougat. The phone is likely to be updated to Android Oreo in the coming months. Since the phone is a toned down version of the company’s flagship device, the expected price of the V7 should be in the sub- 20,000 rupees price bracket. The V7+ currently retails for an asking price of Rs. 21,990.
