Vivo iQOO 3 alleged specifications revealed ahead of launch

Recently, a Vivo phone with model number V1955A was approved by the China’s Compulsory Certificate (3C) regulatory body. The Chinese agency revealed that it is a 5G phone that could be arriving in the home market with a 55W rapid charger. A well-known leakster from China revealed the specifications of an upcoming smartphone for the home market. However, he didn’t reveal the name of the device. Since it supports a 55W fast charger and a display that Vivo has used in its past phones, he seems to have revealed the specifications of the upcoming Vivo iQOO 3 gaming smartphone.

Vivo iQOO 3 specifications and features

The new leak suggests that the upcoming iQOO 3 smartphone has a 6.44-inch OLED display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. He also added that the display of the smartphone features a punch-hole at the top-right corner. Recently, Vivo released the Vivo S5, Vivo X30 and X30 Pro smartphones in China and it unveiled the Vivo V17 in India. These phones are all equipped with 6.44-inch full HD+ displays with punch-holes in the top right corner. The mystery phone appears to be fitted with the same screen.

The iQOO 3 is expected to rival the likes of forthcoming smartphones such as the Black Shark 3 and Nubia Red Magic 5G. Recent reports have revealed that the Black Shark 3 will be coming with a quad HD+ display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Nubia gaming phone’s display will support up to a 144Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the display of the purported iQOO 3 supports only a 60Hz refresh rate.

The alleged iQOO 3 smartphone will be driven by the Snapdragon 865 5G chipset. The new SoC will bring support for NSA and SA 5G networks on the device. The phone could be drawing power from a 4,410mAh battery. The device may come with a 55W fast charger.

The purported iQOO 3 will be equipped with a quad camera setup. The handset is expected to feature a primary 48-megapixel camera.

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is yet to start teasing a new smartphone. Now that the phone has reportedly surfaced on 3C, it may not take much time for its TENAA listing appear with full specs and images. The handset is likely to break cover in the first quarter of this year. In related news, the iQOO brand is expected to arrive in India in March as an independent entity.
