Vivo’s iQOO sub-brand that was made official in China in April 2019 is planning to enter in the Indian market this month. Its first phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. Rumours suggest that it could be arriving in India as the first Snapdragon 865 driven phone. While the company is yet to confirm on its moniker, it is speculated that the device could be called iQOO 3 and it may launch in India first before arriving in China. On Sunday, iQOO introduced its iQOO India Twitter handle by revealing that India will soon witness the arrival of a 5G phone. Apart from launching its Twitter handle, iQOO India’s website has also gone active.

India is yet to become a 5G-ready country. However, iQOO is gearing up to launch a 5G-enabled smartphone in the country. Even Realme had claimed in the recent past that it will be one of the first brands to ship a phone with a Qualcomm integrated 5G SoC in India in 2020. There is no official word on when 5G networks will become active in India.
In a recent interview with The Mobile Indian, iQOO India Marketing Director, Gagan Arora revealed that the company will be launching two phones in India in this month. The two phones are expected to arrive with similar hardware. One of them will support 4G LTE networks, whereas the other one will be also equipped with support for 5G connectivity. Some reports have claimed that iQOO may launch its first phones in India in the second week of February. If this is true, a confirmation on it may soon appear on its Twitter handle.
Past reports have revealed that the upcoming iQOO 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform which includes the X55 5G modem. Hence, the iQOO 3 will support 5G connectivity in countries were commercialization of 5G networks have started.
