Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO will be entering the Indian smartphone market in March, suggests a report by 91mobiles. As per the publication’s sources, iQOO will be operating in the country as an entirely separate entity from Vivo. Just like in China, the company will be offering premium devices with a focus on performance in India. As of now, there’s no word which will be the first smartphone from iQOO in India. However, we expect it to have one of the Snapdragon 8xx series flagship chipset. Notably, this information has arrived soon after Xiaomi announced that its sub-brand POCO will be a separate company in India.
Currently, iQOO is operating only in the Chinese market since its inception in February last year. The company has five smartphones under its inventory in China, including the iQOO, iQOO Neo, iQOO Neo 855, iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition, and the iQOO Pro. The brand is expected to launch the iQOO 3 and iQOO 3 Neo handsets in the near future. The company has already trademarked the names of these devices. In India, iQOO will be competing against the brand’s like OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi, and POCO.
Talking about the most recently launched iQOO smartphone, the company launched the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition in December last year. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, the handset provides a tall screen, enhanced gaming performance, a large battery with fast charging support, and triple primary cameras at the rear. The phone flaunts a 10-layer heat dissipation system, which includes liquid cooling tech, heat pipes, and thermally conductive gel.
As for the other highlights, the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition flaunts a waterdrop notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset has a 6.38-inch full HD+ display with support for HDR10. The phone comes with up to 12GB of RAM. At the rear, it has a triple camera module consisting of a 12MP primary lens, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP third shooter. Lastly, the phone has a 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
