Vivo had launched its gaming smartphone dubbed the iQOO in March this year. The Chinese manufacturer has now announced a toned down version of the device dubbed as the iQOO Neo. It is claimed to be a budget gaming phone. Let’s take a look at the device below:
The Vivo iQOO Neo sports a 6.39-inch display fitted with an AMOLED panel on the top. The display is flanked by thin bezels and a waterdrop notch on the top. Design-wise, the Vivo iQOO Neo can be availed in two colours – Carbon Black and Electro-optic Violet. The device features an under-display fingerprint scanner. The back panel houses a vertically stacked camera setup. It does not come with an LED strip on the back panel compared to the iQOO.
On the optics front, the Vivo iQOO Neo features a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 12MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the device is fitted with a 12MP shooter on the front.
In terms of hardware, the Vivo iQOO is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 845 chipset. The device can be configured in four options up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It comes with features like 4D Game Shock 2.0, touch acceleration, and liquid cooling. There is a Zero-lag touch acceleration feature that means when a user is dragging a controller in the game, it will keep up with the user’s finger speed. Vivo has claimed to optimised the phone for enhanced gaming performance. On the software front, the device runs on Funtouch OS 9 based on Android Pie. The iQOO Neo draws its power from a 4,500mAh battery unit with support for 22.5W fast charging.
Pricing & Availability:
The price of the base variant i.e. 6GB + 64GB has been set at 1,798 Yuan (~Rs 18,029). The 6GB + 128GB model will cost 1,998 Yuan (~Rs 20,035). The 8GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants carry a price tag of 2,098 Yuan (~Rs 21,041) and 2,298 Yuan (~Rs 23,047) respectively. The device is up for pre-order in China.
At this price, the Vivo iQOO Neo is the first budget gaming smartphone in the market. There’s no word whether the device will come to India.
