Vivo has confirmed today that it will be launching the Vivo NEX 2 dual screen smartphone on December 12th in China. It will be the second flagship phone from the company this year after the Vivo NEX phone that was made official in this year.
Vivo NEX 2 Design
Vivo has released official renders of the Vivo NEX 2 smartphone on its Weibo account. The dual display design of the Vivo NEX 2 is reminiscent of the Nubia X dual screen smartphone that was announced in October. A large-sized display is placed on the front of the NEX 2, and a smaller screen is available below the cameras at the rear.
An illuminated RGB circle is present on the top portion of the rear display. One half of the circlee is above the display while the remaining part seems to be embedded under the screen. The RGB-lit circle is designed to light up when the phone receives notifications. An earpiece seems to be present on the top edge of the back panel.
Placed above the secondary display are an LED, three camera sensors and what looks like a module for laser autofocus. While shooting selfies from the rear mounted cameras, users can make use of the rear display as a viewfinder and RBG-lit circle as an additional flash. There is no selfie camera on the Vivo NEX 2 for this reason.
Vivo NEX 2 Specifications
The Vivo NEX 2 smartphone is rumored to feature a 6.59-inch full HD+ S-AMOLED display like the original Vivo NEX phone. It is expected to feature screen sound cast technology, and could be integrated with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The secondary display of the phone could measure 5.5 inches. It is speculated that the secondary screen can function independently as well.
One of the three cameras of the Vivo NEX 2 may have an ultra-wide f/1.3 aperture. Rumors have it that the third sensor that is placed outside the Lunar Ring could be a ToF (Time of Flight) 3D sensor that can assist in accurate 3D mapping of objects.
The Snapdragon 845 chipset is expected to power the Vivo NEX 2. It could be the first smartphone from the company to arrive with 10GB of RAM. It may feature an inbuilt storage of 128GB. The Vivo NEX came with a 4,000mAh battery. Considering the fact that the Vivo NEX 2 has dual displays, it should ideally a contain a larger battery. A 3.5mm headphone jack is available on the top edge of the NEX 2. We’ll have more details when the phone is unveiled next week, so stay tuned to PriceBaba.
