Vivo recently launched the X21 in the country which is the first smartphone to come to the Indian market with an under-the-display fingerprint scanner and the company is set to launch another smartphone. This smartphone is pushing the limit of technological capabilities to the very limit. This smartphone was first unveiled earlier this year as the Vivo Apex. As per new teasers, the smartphone will now be called as the Vivo NEX.
The smartphone is expected to have a full-screen display that will stretch from edge to edge and have a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent. To attain this ratio, Vivo has ditched the notch on this smartphone and still managed to fit a selfie camera in a rather innovative way. The selfie camera pops out of the top of the phone through a motorised module.
That isn’t all that’s fascinating about the smartphone. It also has a fingerprint scanner embedded inside its screen, like the X21. This also allows the phone to have more screen space on the front.
Recently, the phone was spotted on GeekBench that shed some light on what we can expect from the phone. The upcoming offering will be offered in two processor variants viz. Snapdragon 710 and the more premium Snapdragon 845 variant. The low-end variant is expected to be dubbed as the Vivo NEX S. The phone is also expected to rock 4GB of RAM for smooth multitasking. The higher SD845 variant is expected to come with up to 8GB of RAM.
Details about the cameras on this smartphone are still up to speculation but, if we look back at the recent past, Vivo is known to make some good camera phones and this shouldn’t be an expectation.
The Vivo NEX and NEX S are set to launch on June 12 in Shanghai. Considering how Vivo has been launching smartphones for the Indian market, it is likely that this variant will make it to India as well.
