Vivo S1 4GB RAM variant price cut in India, now available for Rs 16,990

Vivo launched its first S series smartphone in India dubbed as the Vivo S1 last year. The smartphone recently received a price hike of Rs 2,000 due to the increased rate of GST in India from April 1st. Now, the smartphone maker has once again dropped the price of the smartphone by Rs 1,000 in the country. This price drop is only for the base 4GB RAM variant of the smartphone, the 6GB model remains unaffected.

To recall, Vivo S1 was launched as the first smartphone in the country to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P65 processor. The mid-range smartphone comes with a decent spec sheet and is also available offline.

The Vivo S1 4GB was retailing for Rs 17,990 after the Rs 2,000 hike due to the GST increase in India. Now the new price drop has brought the price down by Rs 1,000 at Rs 16,990. The new price of the handset is already in effect across retail stores in India. Do bear in mind that you will only be able to purchase smartphones offline post lockdown, which has now been extended for two more weeks post-May 4th. Online, the handset is still retailing for Rs 17,990 on Flipkart, while the 6GB RAM is being offered for Rs 19,990.

Vivo S1 specifications and features

To recap, the smartphone comes with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio P65 processor. Out of the box, the handset boots FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie. Under the hood is a 4,500mAh battery, which supports fast charging.

The Vivo S1 has a triple camera setup on the back with a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The waterdrop notch on the front houses a 32MP selfie camera. Connectivity-wise, the phone offers 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
