Vivo has debuted its first S series smartphone in India dubbed as the Vivo S1. The smartphone was launched in China back in March this year, and its global variant was announced in Indonesia last month. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications of the smartphone below:
Display & Design:
On the display front, the Vivo S1 features a 6.38-inch screen bearing full HD+ resolution. It is fitted with a Super AMOLED panel, and there is a waterdrop notch on top that offers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Vivo S1 also has Widevine L1 support for streaming HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The smartphone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Design-wise, the Vivo S1 flaunts a stylish gradient back panel and can be availed in Diamond Black and Skyline Blue colours. The former comes with an attractive diamond-cut pattern.
In the photography department, the Vivo S1 is equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The module consists of a 16MP main camera featuring Sony IMX499 sensor accompanied by an 8MP super wide-angle lens and 2MP bokeh sensor. On the front, the device is fitted with a 32MP snapper for selfies. The camera is backed by AI features and modes like AI face beauty, lighting, and AR stickers.
Hardware, OS, and Battery:
Inside, the Vivo S1 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 processor. The device has been launched in three RAM and storage variants i.e. 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The internal memory is expandable up to 256GB. On the software front, the S1 runs Android 9 Pie with Funtouch OS skinned on the top. There is an Ultra Game Mode that optimises the performance and ensures smoother gameplay. The Vivo S1 is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W dual engine fast charging technology. The smartphone also supports Reverse Charging feature via OTG that can be used to charge other devices like smartwatch and headphones.
Pricing & Availability:
Vivo has set the price of the base variant of the S1 i.e 4GB + 128GB at Rs 17,990. The 6GB + 64GB will retail at Rs 18,990 while the higher 6GB + 128GB model carries a price tag of Rs 19,990. The smartphone goes on sale across offline outlets from August 8th and online channels including Vivo e-store, Amazon and Flipkart starting 14th August. The 6GB+128GB variant will be available for purchase starting next month. Buyers can avail 7.5 percent cashback on HDFC credit cards, no-cost EMI options up to 9 months and extra Rs 1,000 off on exchange. Paytm users can avail Rs 2,500 cashback while Reliance Jio users will get benefits worth Rs 10,000.
