Vivo S1 Pro to be announced on November 20th; launching in India as Vivo V17

In South-east Asian markets like the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, Vivo has been teasing the upcoming Vivo S1 Pro smartphone. It is a different device than the Vivo S1 Pro handset that had gone official in China in May. The smartphone that is heading to Southeast Asian regions will be launching in India and Russia as the Vivo V17. On Sunday, Vivo Philippines confirmed that the Vivo S1 Pro will be going official on November 20th.  Its Indonesian wing has also confirmed that the Vivo S1 Pro will be announced in the country on November 25th.

Vivo S1 Pro Specifications and Features

The Vivo S1 Pro has a waterdrop notch-enabled Super AMOLED display measuring 6.38-inches. It sports 1,080 x 2,340 pixels full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The S1 Pro offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.

The Snapdragon 665 mobile platform that powers the likes of the Redmi Note 8, OPPO A9 2020, Moto G8 Plus and the upcoming Realme 5s fuels the Vivo S1 Pro. The smartphone feature 8GB of RAM, 128GB of native storage and a microSD card slot that supports expansion up to 256GB.

A 4,500mAh battery with 18W dual-engine fast charging is packed inside the Vivo S1 Pro. The front notch of the phone has a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The back panel of the phone has the Vivo S5-like diamond-shaped camera module that includes four camera sensors and an LED flash below it. The AI quad camera setup of the S1 Pro has the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 48-megapixel main lens and an 8-megapixel superwide lens with a 120-degree field-of-view.

The pricing of the Vivo S1 Pro is not known yet. It will be available in Indonesia in colors like Glowing Black and Crystal Black.

In India, the Vivo S1 Pro will be rebranded as the Vivo V17. Vivo India is yet to reveal its arrival. However, recent reports have claimed that it could be debuting by the end of November in India and it may release in Indian markets with a price tag of around Rs 25,000. Speculations have it that Vivo may gradually phase out the Vivo V17 Pro with the arrival of the Vivo V17.
