Vivo S1 Pro with Snapdragon 665 and 48MP quad camera setup launched in China

Vivo had launched the Vivo S1 in Asian markets including India earlier this year. Today, it has announced the Vivo S1 Pro in Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia as the advanced version of the Vivo S1. The smartphone has an attractive gradient colored body with a unique diamond-shaped quad camera system. The device also features a large-sized battery that carries support for fast charging.

The Vivo S1 Pro will be rebranded as the V17 in India

The Vivo S1 Pro features a glass back panel, while the display sports a waterdrop notch. The phone has a distinct red-coloured power button on its right. The dimensions of the device are 159.24 x 75.19 x 8.68mm and it weighs 186.7 grams. It has a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It offers 1,080 x 2,340 pixels full HD+ resolution. A fingerprint scanner is placed underneath the screen of the phone. The phone capitalises on the AMOLED screen’s selfie illuminating property by offering users an Always-on Display feature.

The Snapdragon 665 mobile platform powers the Vivo S1 Pro smartphone along with 8GB of RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 128GB. A dedicated microSD card slot is also available on the device. The latest FunTouch OS 9.2 overlaid on the Android 9 Pie runs on the device. The Vivo S1 Pro features Game Centre onboard for keeping a real-time watch on CPU, GPU and temperature data. There’s also Ultra Game Mode to block disturbances like notifications while gaming.

The Vivo S1 Pro has a front-facing 32-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Apart from Face Beauty, there is AI Pose Master on the device that guides users into capturing selfie shot in stylish poses. The AI quad camera system includes a 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra wide angle lens, a 2-megapixel super macro lens with 4cm focal range and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Vivo S1 has a 4,500mAh battery can be charged with Vivo’s 18W dual-engine fast charging technology. The device offers connectivity features like dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Vivo S1 Pro Price and Release Date

The Vivo S1 Pro has arrived in Philippines with a price tag of PHP 15,999 (~Rs. 22,550). In Thailand, the handset carries a pricing of 9,999 Baht (~Rs. 23,800). Fancy Sky and Knight Black are the two colour editions of the Vivo S1 Pro.

The Vivo S1 Pro is expected to launch in India and Russia by the end of this month. The phone is expected to be branded as the Vivo V17 in these markets,
