Vivo S16 series is set to go official in China. Its launch event will take place at 7 pm (local time) on December 22nd, 2022. In China, the series will rival the OPPO Reno 9 lineup and Honor 80 series. The company has officially confirmed that the S16 lineup will comprise of three devices, namely the Vivo S16e, the Vivo S16, and the Vivo S16 Pro.
Earlier this week, Pricebaba published an exclusive report to share the CAD renders of the Vivo S16 Pro. 91mobiles recently leaked the key specifications of the Vivo S16e and the S16. And now, a new tweet by tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed all the important specs of the Vivo S16 Pro.
Vivo S16e, S16, S16 Pro specifications (rumoured)
The Vivo S16e is expected to feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED display, whereas the Vivo S16 will house a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. Both have a flat design, but the S16 Pro’s 6.78-inch AMOLED panel has curved edges. All three phones will support a Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and have an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo S16e will be powered by the Exynos 1080 chipset, while the Vivo S16 will feature the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The Vivo S16 Pro will come equipped with the latest Dimensity 8200 chipset.
The entire series is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. All three phones are said to pack a 4,600mAh battery. While the S16e and S16 are expected to support 66W fast charging, the Pro model will offer 80W fast charging. The S16 series will run on the OrignOS 3-based Android 13 OS.
The Vivo S16e will have a 16-megapixel front camera. The S16 and S16 Pro are expected to feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera. The S16e’s rear camera setup will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The S16 will have a 64-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera setup. The S16 Pro, on the other hand, will have a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Vivo is unlikely to release the new S16-series of smartphones in markets outside of China. A rebranded or tweaked version of the S16 models may release in global markets, including India, as the Vivo V27 series.
