Vivo recently announced that it will be introducing a new S series phone called the Vivo S5 in its home market of China at an event on November 14th. Ahead of the launch, the company has been teasing the features of the upcoming smartphone. Now, the brand has gone ahead and released a handful of press renders of the Vivo S5. The newly released photos have revealed the design of the Vivo S5 from all angles. The latest official images have confirmed that the handset will be arriving with a unique diamond-shaped primary camera at the back. The device will also have a hole in the screen to house the selfie camera.
As seen in the renders, the Vivo S5 will have a very small hole on the top-right side of the display that will have the front camera. The smartphone will feature almost non-existent bezels on all the sides. At the rear, the handset will have a primary camera module with three lenses and an LED unit, and there will be another shooter below the setup. One of these photos shows the handset with a light Blue colour that mixes into Pink towards the right and left sides at the back. The other variant visible in the images has a Dark Blue shade at the rear. No other details have been revealed by the company at the moment.
Vivo S5 specifications and features
The Vivo S5 was recently spotted in the database of the Chinese certification agency TENAA. The listing suggested that the phone will come with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution. The device will be powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core processor, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 712 chipset. One of the variants of the phone will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There could be some other configurations of the smartphone as well. Software-wise, the smartphone will boot Funtouch OS 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie.
As for the other specs, the Vivo S5 is said to feature a quad-camera setup at the rear – 48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP. For selfies and video-calling, the device is rumoured to offer a 32MP camera on the front. The other leaked specs include an in-display fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and a beefy 4,010mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
