Earlier this month, a report claimed that Vivo is planning to launch a new 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Vivo U20 smartphone in India. The source claimed that the handset will be available via major brick-and-mortar stores across the country from December 12th. The report also mentioned that the new Vivo U20 model will cost Rs 18,990. However, now the same publication claims that Rs 18,990 will only be the MRP (maximum retail price) of the device, and the handset will carry a MOP (maximum offering price) of Rs 17,990. As of now, there’s no word if the new Vivo U20 RAM and storage variant will also be available via online sales channels.
Vivo U20 specifications and features
Apart from the higher RAM and storage, the offline variant of the Vivo U20 will offer the same set of specifications and features under the hood. The handset is a mid-range device with a waterdrop notch above the display and a triple camera setup at the rear. The phone features a 6.53-inch full HD+ screen, and is backed by Funtouch OS 9 that’s based on Android 9 Pie. At the rear, the smartphone offers a gradient finish for an attractive design and a fingerprint sensor in the middle. Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 675 processor. Apart from 8GB RAM and 128GB variant, the handset is available in two more models – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB 64GB.
In the camera department, the Vivo U20 offers a 16MP primary camera on the back, which is accompanied by an 8MP wide-angle shooter and a 2MP super macro snapper. The connectivity features of the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS with GLONASS. A 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support completes the list of the specifications of the phone.

As we mentioned above, the Vivo U20’s 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs Rs 17,990. The handset’s 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM models are being offered for Rs 10,990 and Rs 11,990 respectively.
