Just yesterday, Vivo introduced its latest V series smartphone called the Vivo V17 in Russia. The phone is essentially a rebranded version of the Vivo S1 Pro, which was announced a week ago in the Philippines. The Chinese tech giant is now planning to release the Vivo V17 smartphone in the Indian market, according to a report by 91mobiles. The source has obtained the information from an anonymous Vivo executive, who revealed that product training for the Vivo V17 at the offline retail stores in the country will commence on November 20th and will continue until December 8th.
According to the source, the Vivo V17 could be launched in India as soon as the first or second week of December. As for the pricing, the report claims that the phone will be priced around Rs 22,000. In Russia, the smartphone is available at a starting price of around Rs 25,000. Unfortunately, no other information regarding the India launch of the Vivo V17 have been revealed by the latest report.

To recap on the specs, the Vivo V17 is a mid-range offering with a diamond-shaped camera module at the rear that houses four lenses. The smartphone has minimal bezels around the display, a waterdrop notch above it, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The handset comes with a 6.38-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display, and boots Funtouch OS 9 that’s based on Android 9 Pie. Under the hood, the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, which is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, which can be further increased up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card.
At the rear, the Vivo V17 has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary camera. The main sensor is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel shooter for depth sensing. For selfies and video calling, the device has a 32-megapixel camera on the front that’s placed inside the waterdrop notch above the screen. In terms of connectivity, the Vivo V17 has 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and GPS with GLONASS. A 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support completes the list of the specifications.
