Vivo V17 Pro reportedly discontinued in India ahead of V19 series launch

Recently, a report by 91mobiles suggested that Vivo is all set to launch its new V series smartphone called the Vivo V19 Pro in India win the first week of March. The phone will arrive as the successor to the V17 Pro, which was launched in the country in September last year. Ahead of the Vivo V19 Pro’s launch, the brand has discontinued the Vivo V17 Pro in India, suggested a new report by 91mobiles. Furthermore, the source has claimed that the Chinese phone maker is currently clearing out the existing stock of the V17 Pro in both the online and offline stores across the country.

For the uninitiated, the Vivo V17 Pro was launched in India in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone was originally introduced for Rs 29,999, but its price was dropped by Rs 2,000 just one month after the launch. After the price cut, the handset is available for Rs 27,999 from both the online and offline stores.

Talking about the features, the Vivo V17 Pro is a mid-range offering with a dual pop-up selfie camera module and four primary lenses on the back. The handset has a 6.59-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the device has the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, which is paired with tan Adreno 612 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of native storage. Software-wise, the handset boots Funtouch OS 9.1 that’s based on Android 9.0 Pie.

At the rear, the Vivo V17 Pro has a 48MP primary camera, which is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 13MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. In the front, the device has a 32MP main shooter that’s aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The connectivity features are standard including 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS. Lastly, a 4,100mAh battery with 18W Dual-Engine fast charging support completes the list of the specifications.
